Hijab in Islam

Seeing girls these days, pakai tudung with high sanggul looks style sometimes and looks weird the other time. Huhu. Well...,i'm not that good in this and I'm not that perfect in the aurat aspect. I kutip all the knowledge to be a good muslimah one day. Amin~~ ^^.

Hadith - Sahih Muslim, Narrated Abu Hurayrah r.a

Allah's Apostle said:
There are two types, amongst the denizens of Hell, I have yet not seen them. One possessing whips like the tail of an ox and they flog people with them. (The second one) the women who would be naked in spite of their being dressed, who are seduced (to wrong paths) and seduce others with their hair high like humps. These women would not get into Jannah and they would not perceive the odour of Paradise, although its fragrance can be perceived from such and such distance (from great distance).

Women should not put all her hair up on the top of her haid like a camel hump. She may put it up at home as long as some hair lays on her neck still, but not when leaving the house in hijab where the hump can be seen to be under the hijab and drawing attention to her hair.

So friends, turunkan sikit sanggul tu eh. U still can look style in other way.

What's better? Hijab or no hijab? Atleast they're making an effort & WEARING IT! we should always look towards the positives.

I think anon is missing the point of our sister here, she is not saying that they are not good people rather just informing people of the truth as surely this formation of he 'hijab' is from shaytan as it looks the same as any other no-muslim and in some cases worse. Please sister do not attack our sister and she is making an effort to inform and educate people that think the hijab is just the scarf when it is not. Do'nt be harsh to her as she is only trying to help us and Insha'Allah Allah in his infinite mercy and wisdom will take it as one of your acts of Ibadah. Ameen. Masalam .

Assalamu aleykum, dear sister!

I found this post on google, looking for pictures for the hadith you mentioned.
When i read other posts of yours, i was kindof shocked, that you wrote such a nice post for hijab, and then i could see you without it.
Nontheless, you wrote you would like to be a better muslima "one day", yet you even post pictures 2 years later infront of a sex bar...
Im a bit confused.

"Allah says: Surely We created man of the best stature; Then we reduced him to the lowest of the low; except such as believe and do righteous deeds: for they shall have a reward unfailing." (95:4-6)

We are the best of mankind, as muslims, so why ruin this position in the sight of Allah?

I have been trying to search for some hadiths, but unfortunately i dint find them, concerning how we should be good examples by our deeds. But ive found one, im sure you know it:
"If one imitates another nation he will be from them." [Reported by Imam Abu-Dawd]

Dear sister, dont wait to be a better muslima "one day", be a better one inshaAllah day by day!
Try with small things, worship more, do your salat on time, dhikr, then you will find yourself walking in long skirts, and eventually inshaAllah in hijab.
Islam is not to be forced, but if you are a muslim, you have responsabilities...
If your Eman is strong enough, you will see, nobody can stand in your way to practice the Deen..
May Allah help you, and all of us in increasing our piety and worship thowards Him, and may He keep us far from Hellfire! amin

Assalamualaikum tazmeen,

Thanks for ur kind opinion. I appreciate ur concern on my words "trying to be a good muslimah". I had my own point of view.

People is different. Some takes time to change while the other can make the change in just a blink of eyes. I'm the first one. I'm still learning and trying my best to be a good muslimah. I didn't wear short skirts neither drink alcoholic baverages. I visit few places which for me, it reflect the culture of the people. I took my picture outside the sex bar, doesn't mean i enter that bar dear. Picture really tells thousands stories i believe. You can say what ever you wanted about the picture, but you dunno the real story behind it. Maybe the place looks bad in ur eyes but there are quite number of halal restaurant in the area! Do u know how thankful i was when i found the halal restaurant there? Moral behind it, not everything is as it looks sister. :)

Please dun blame or accuse everyone without knowing what's the truth.it's good that u send me ur thought n ur concern. I know that i might not be as good as you but at least i'm trying to spread something that i can keep for the future. ;)

Thank you once again....:)

Asalaamu Alaikum Indah,

While I really appreciate that you are trying to make an effort to be a good Muslimah, I was saddened when I came across your post. It is these kinds of comments and posts that are what contribute to the squabbling and divisions within the global Muslim community. I think you need to remember that it is not our place to judge what other sisters do or don't do. As we all know, it is ultimately Allah that we will all answer to on the day of judgement, not our fellow humans on Earth. Therefore, we need to remember not to backbite (which is considered a major sin in Islam), which would include posting women's pictures (without their permission) as examples of what NOT to do when wearing hijab. Especially, I might add, because you do not, yourself, wear a hijab, which leads to the added problem of being hypocritical, another big no-no. Therefore you have even less grounds for passing your judgement on fellow sisters who are making the effort to cover their hair and dress modestly.

With regards to what you said about women who "seduce others with their hair high like humps"...if you actually had proper knowledge of this hadith, you would know that this quote is in reference to non-believing women, specifically prostitutes. This was more a comment with regards to prostitution and UNCOVERED hair, not regarding believing women who wear hijab.

Again, as I mentioned, I appreciate your (hopefully well meaning) intentions, but please remember the teachings of Islam. We do not backbite, and we do not judge. You need to begin by examining your own behaviour before you even begin to think of what you deem as being the mistakes of others.

In the Qu'ran it states clearly: "Behold, you received it on your tongues, and said out of your mouths things which you had no knowledge; and you thought it to be a light matter, while it was most serious in the sight of God" (24: 15).

It further states: "O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, in deeds some suspicions are sins. And spy not neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear God, verily, God is the one who accepts repentance, Most Merciful." (49: 12)

Please sister, remember these teachings as you continue on your journey of the right path.

Jazak Allah,
Sarah
